The design of Pride, Fail, Oppressed and Win are from Chinese idioms "骄兵必败" "哀兵必胜", which tells that human being should not become prideful, or he is destined to fail.

In one TV series, someone said "胜兵必骄, 骄兵必败" (Victorious soldiers must be pride, and pride goes before a fail), and later he said "败兵必哀, 哀兵必胜" (Failed soldiers must be oppressed, and the oppressed will rise to win), leading to a ridiculous endless loop of "Win → Pride → Fail → Oppressed → Win → Pride → ..."
