Brittle Bones is an unlockable passive item in The Binding of Isaac, added in the Afterbirth+ DLC.

On pickup +6 Bone Hearts.

Removes all Red Heart containers and empties all Bone Hearts.

While heldLosing any Bone heart causes Isaac to fire a ring of 8 bones that deal 22 + DamageStat damage and split into more bones that deal damage half of this amount.

Losing a Bone Heart also grants a permanent +0.4 fire rate.

No effects are applied when losing Bone Hearts via a Devil Deal or other means that don't involve directly taking damage.

Has a 1% chance of being dropped upon defeating The Frail.

Brittle Bones

• On pickup, removes all red heart containers and replaces them with 6 empty bone hearts
• Each time a bone heart is shattered, Isaac launches a ring of bone shots in all directions and gains a permanent tears increase
