Apple of Sodom is a trinket in The Binding of Isaac, added in the Repentance DLC.

Picking up Red Hearts has a 50% chance to convert them into Blue Spiders instead of using them for healing. The chance goes up to 100% if Isaac cannot normally pick up the heart (e.g. has full health).

The number of Blue Spiders spawned depends on the type of heart that was picked up:
• Heart (half): 1-3 spiders.
• Heart: 3-5 spiders.
• Heart (double): 6-8 spiders.

Characters that cannot obtain Red Hearts can convert them into Blue Spiders.

Can also be used on Red Hearts inside of Shops which won't consume any money, but Isaac must have enough money to purchase the heart.
