Empty Vessel is an unlockable passive item in The Binding of Isaac, added in the Afterbirth DLC.

+2 Black Hearts.

Grants flight when Isaac has no red hearts.

When Isaac has no red hearts, every 40 seconds (when the seconds on the timer hit 00, 20, or 40), while in an active room, activates a shield that negates all damage for 10 seconds.
