Lazarus is an unlockable character in The Binding of Isaac.

Starting items
A random pill.
Anemic after completing the Backasswards challenge.
Description
Has an extra life that causes him to respawn as Lazarus II, losing one heart container in the process.
Lazarus transforms back to his original form when traveling to a new floor, and regains back the extra life.
Transforming to the other character grants a permanent +0.5 damage to both forms.
