Birthright is an unlockable passive item in The Binding of Isaac, added in the Repentance DLC.

Grants a passive ability that is unique for each character. This ability usually enhances the character's special traits or helps mitigate some of their downsides.

Birthright

• Isaac: Passive item with a unique specialized effect for each character
• Isaac: New pedestal items cycle between 2 different items, allowing 1 to be chosen
• Magdalene: Grants 1 red heart container and increases Maggy's maximum heart limit from 12 to 18
• Cain: +1 luck
• Cain: Guarantees that an arcade with additional machines will spawn on every future floor that can spawn one
• Judas + Black Judas: Grants the Book of Belial as a permanent active item that combines with other active items rather than swapping with them
• Judas + Black Judas: Using Judas' active item then has an additional effect of granting a damage boost for the current room, scaling with the second active item's charges
• ???: Every HP upgrade item grants 2 soul hearts instead of 1
• Eve: The effects of dead bird and whore of babylon are permanently active
• Samson: Increases bloody lust's maximum number of activations per floor from 6 to 10
• Azazel: Massively increases the width of Azazel's Brimstone beam
• Lazarus + Lazarus II: Lazarus' resurrection effect gains a degrading damage boost that lasts longer if enemies are killed in quick succession
• Eden: Spawns 3 random pedestal items from 3 random item pools on pickup. When 1 of them is picked up, the other 2 will vanish
• The Lost: Purges all item pools of items that are effectively useless to The Lost, like HP upgrades
• Lilith: All offensive following familiars stack tightly in front of Lilith, making it easier to direct their attacks or use them as shields
• Keeper: Grants 1 additional coin heart
• Apollyon: Improves Void's effect by giving it a chance to spawn a pedestal item it previously consumed each time Void is activated
• The Forgotten: Removes the chain binding the Forgotten's Soul to his skeleton, allowing free movement while in Soul form
• Bethany: When activating an active item using soul heart charges, there's a 50% chance no charges will be consumed
• Jacob and Esau: Whichever twin picks this up is granted copies of the last 3 pedestal items picked up by the other twin
• Tainted Isaac: Increases passive item inventory capacity from 8 to 12
• Tainted Magdalene: Grants 1 red heart container to Maggy's health meter. This heart container does not drain over time
• Tainted Cain: Doubles the amount of random pickups that spawn when touching a pedestal item
• Tainted Judas: Increases the size of the Dark Arts aura
• Tainted ???: Increases the maximum limit of stored poops from 9 to 29
• Tainted Eve: Clots created from Eve's red hearts drop a temporary half red heart pickup when they die
• Tainted Samson: Each kill made in Berserk mode adds 3 more seconds to its duration instead of 1 second
• Tainted Azazel: Doubles the size of the Hemoptysis sneeze burst
• Tainted Lazarus: Lazarus' inactive half appears next to his active half at all times, moving and attacking in unison. The inactive half is immune to damage but can still fire shots
• Tainted Eden: On pickup, whichever items you're currently holding are made immune from future rerolls on hit. Items picked up after Birthright are still subjected to the reroll-on-hit effect
• Tainted Lost: Grants 1 extra life. Also deals 200 damage to nearby enemies when this extra life triggers
• Tainted Lilith: Any following familiars gained will stack tightly and attach to the umbilical cord along with Gello
• Tainted Keeper: Grants a magnet-like effect that pulls the temporary coins dropped by slain enemies towards Keeper
• Tainted Apollyon: Abyss locusts no longer automatically return after each launch, and instead remain deployed against enemies for as long as any attack buttons are held down
• Tainted Forgotten: Grants a permanent pocket active item called Recall. When activated, Recall retrieves the skeleton from wherever it is, pulling it across the room directly to the soul and damaging enemies in its path as it returns
• Tainted Bethany: Grants 4 jumbo-sized Lemegeton wisps on pickup, randomly selected from high-quality items. These wisps are still susceptible to damage, but start with large health pools
• Tainted Jacob: Splits Dark Esau into two. Both Esaus will chase Jacob and charge in unison, Activating Anima Sola also chains and releases both Esaus simultaneously.
• Abyss: x1 locust 1.5x Isaac's damage
