The Book of Enlightenment is an unlockable active item in Kicks and Giggles, a mod for The Binding of Isaac.

Has a 16% chance to be sold in a certain hidden shop in exchange for 6 severed heads.

Installing Road to Enlightenment increases this chance to 32%.

On use Creates a permanent restoration point on the current floor, allowing Isaac to revive in its starting room regardless of how many times he dies.

After dying, prevents all machines, item pedestals, any pickup that isn't a heart, a Holy Card, or a Suspicious Flask from spawning, until Isaac enters a stage later than the floor he died on.

Defeat The Beast as Lewis.

This item contributes towards the Bookworm transformation. Collecting 3 items from this set will make Isaac fire an extra tear 25% of the time.

After using this item, the floor you're on is saved into the Save Data.

If you die after creating a restoration point, the floor you died is also saved, and you revive on the floor you "saved" your game.

At the cost of not being able to obtain anything unless you beat the stage you died and progress to the next floor, this item effectively grants you infinite revives. Think of an RPG save point where you revive indefinitely whenever you die. This item pretty much does that. It's fucking beautiful. Glorious.
