Der Sandmann (opened) is an unlockable active item in Sacred Dreams, a mod for The Binding of Isaac.

Recharges by dealing damage to enemies.

Can be used at any amount of charges.

The book, spawned by Der Sandmann, starts emitting an aura that occasionally applies somnolence to enemies within it.
The aura's radius increases with the item's charge.

On use Spawns souls that home in on the nearest enemy and explode.
Turns back into Der Sandmann.

The amount of souls spawned is based on the item's charge when it was used.

Earn all Hard Mode completion marks as The Dream Guard.

This item contributes towards the Bookworm transformation. Collecting 3 items from this set will make Isaac fire an extra tear 25% of the time.
