Spelling Bee is a passive item in Fiend Folio, a mod for The Binding of Isaac.

Grants attributes based on the letters in the current run's seed.

Each letter of the seed is checked whether or not it is contained within an attribute, and an increase (shown in green) to that attribute is given based on the number of valid letters inside it:
COIN (+1)
KEY (+1)
BOMB (+1)
SPEED (+0.25; -0.06)
TEARS (+0.5; -0.11)
DAMAGE (+0.55; -0.12)
RANGE (+1.4; -0.53)
SHOTSPEED (+0.13; -0.04)
LUCK (+1; -0.7)

If Hard Mode is enabled, the word HARD is also checked.

The letters are displayed upon acquiring the item, and each valid one visually goes to a specific attribute shown on the HUD, if the Found HUD setting is enabled.

Reward letters are marked in green, and others in grey. Numbers are marked in red and each of them will decrease all of Isaac's stats before applying the increase from others, by the red amounts shown above.

Depending on the seed, the item can end up decreasing more stats than it gives, resulting in a negative outcome.

Coins, keys, and bombs cannot be decreased.

The luck stat bonus is always rounded up to the nearest integer.

This item is exclusive to the Tainted Treasure Rooms mod and may appear within a Tainted Treasure Room as a counterpart of Community Achievement.
