Confessional is an unlockable machine in The Binding of Isaac, added in the Repentance DLC.

Costs half a heart to play. Prioritizes red hearts first.

Starting from Chapter 4, costs a full heart to play.

Not having enough HP to play can kill Isaac.

Has a 30% chance to pay out on Normal Mode, and 25% on Hard Mode.

Possible payouts
• 5% - explode (cannot hurt Isaac), and spawn several random pickups
• 3.3% - explode (cannot hurt Isaac) and grant the final payout
• Removes a Broken Heart, if Isaac has one.
• 50% - Soul Heart
• 10% - Eternal Heart
• "You Feel Blessed!": removes the floor's curse, grants +10% Angel Room chance, and allows Isaac to find an Angel Room even if a Devil Deal has already been taken. If no Devil Deal has been taken, the Angel Room becomes guaranteed for that floor.

Final payout
• Spawns an Angel Room item, or Redemption if a Devil Deal has been made during the run.

When destroyed
• Spawns several random pickups.
