Notched Axe is an active item in The Binding of Isaac.
When used, replaces Isaac's tears with a pickaxe that can be swung like The Forgotten's club.
It can damage enemies, break obstacles and blow open doors.
Using the item again holsters the pickaxe and allows Isaac to shoot tears again. This can be done repeatedly without wasting any charges.
The item has a total of 64 charges and cannot be recharged normally by clearing rooms or picking up batteries or battery-related items. It will fully recharge upon going down to a next floor or picking up Iron Bar.
Each swing deals 3x Isaac's damage and depletes 2 charges.
Destroying an obstacle or blowing open a door depletes 1 charge.
Once the item runs out of charges, the pickaxe breaks and cannot be used again until recharged.
