Mine Cart Room is a room in The Binding of Isaac, added in the Repentance DLC.

The Mine Cart Room is a unique room that appears only in Mines/Ashpit II if Isaac holds Knife Piece 1 when entering the floor.

The room contains a Rail Plate (golden button), rails, and a minecart, and occasionally some enemies. The top of the room contains a blocked door that leads to the Mineshaft.

The Mineshaft is a special area that features a chase sequence with Mother's Shadow, and is how Isaac can obtain Knife Piece 2.

In order to unblock the Mineshaft door, Isaac must press the Rail Plate in the room, and 2 additional Rail Plates that generate randomly on the floor.

Alternatively, the door can be opened with 2 explosions.

The door becomes permanently sealed upon leaving the Mineshaft.
