The fire lasts for 10 seconds and can pass through obstacles.

The fire deals 300% of Isaac's damage 6 times per second causes enemies to emit dark particles that can be absorbed by Isaac.

The chance of shooting a flame is equal to 1 / (10 + LuckStat). It starts at 10% with 0 luck, going up to 100% with -9 luck.

Absorbing dark particles grants +0.15 damage per particle, up to a maximum of +10 damage.

The damage boost scales down to 0 over the course of 2 seconds.

The design of this item draws inspiration from Rumia's title in Embodiment of Scarlet Devil: "Youkai of the Dusk".
In some doujin works, "Dusk" is interpreted as "devouring the darkness within human hearts", which aligns with this item's effect to cause enemies to emit dark particles that can be absorbed.

This item's name pays homage to the poem Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night by the British poet Dylan Thomas.
