Yin's Curse is a passive item in neverbirth, a mod for The Binding of Isaac.

On pickupActivates a single, shared quality-4 pedestal effect for the run.

The first eligible quality-4 item pedestal is replaced with Ipecac.

If the first character to acquire this item already holds Black Candle, the original item is kept and an extra Ipecac is spawned beside it instead.

Existing explosion immunity remains effective; Black Candle does not grant explosion immunity.

Yin's Curse can be found in the following item pools:

The following tags are applied to this item:

The effect is shared by all characters and resolves once per run.

Additional copies or later acquisitions do not reset it.

Black Candle is checked when the run is first activated.

Gaining or losing Black Candle afterward does not change the selected mode.

Activation immediately checks the current room.

A later eligible pedestal, including one rerolled into quality 4, can also trigger the effect.

The pedestal must be visible and available to interact with.

Ipecac itself and the bonus pedestal generated by this item are excluded.

The bonus Ipecac is separate from the original pedestal's choice group.

A failed replacement or failed bonus spawn does not consume the one-time effect.

Once activated, the pending effect survives losing all copies and is saved when continuing the run.
