Crawl Space is a room in The Binding of Isaac.

The Crawl Space is a hidden room that is viewed from the side, rather than from above. This means the room has gravity that pulls Isaac to the floor, and he must use ladders to traverse the floors.

The room typically contains various pickups, enemies, and sometimes an item from the Treasure Room item pool.

Sometimes, the Crawl Space will include a passage that leads to a Black Market.

A Crawl Space may be entered/discovered in the following ways:
• Using We Need To Go Deeper! or {i|Ehwaz}} on a special tile (e.g. grass).
• Bombing the carpet inside a Clean Bedroom.
• Destroying a rock - random chance.
• Using Chaos Card on the Great Gideon boss.
• Using XXI - The World?.

Only one rock per floor is able to hide a Crawl Space entrance.

Only one Crawl Space may exist per floor. If multiple entrances are found, they will both lead to the same room.

Leaving a Crawl Space from an unintended exit (glitching out) will lead to the I AM ERROR room.

This room is not part of the playable area and exists outside of the map's boundaries.

The Crawl Space is associated with the Treasure Room item pool. Items that spawn in this room will be selected from the associated item pool.
