Dire Chest is an unlockable pickup in Fiend Folio, a mod for The Binding of Isaac.

Does not have a requirement to open. It can be opened multiple times before spawning a final reward.

The chance to spawn the final reward is equal to 1 / (11 - TimesOpened).

Possible drops
• 15.38% → 2 enemy skuzzes
• 15.38% → 2 blue skuzzes
• 15.38% → 1-3 Cursed Pennies
• 7.69% → Copper Bomb
• 7.69% → Immoral Heart
• 7.69% → Spicy Key
• 7.69% → 1-3 Cursed Batteries
• 7.69% → random card from the list below
• 7.69% → 2 enemy Blots
• 7.69% → Rules Card - on the ground or direct activation (50/50 chance)

The following cards can be spawned:
• +3 Fireballs
• Imp-losion
• Plague of Decay
• Skip Card
• Jack of Clubs
• Jack of Diamonds
• Jack of Hearts
• Jack of Spades

Final payout
20% chance to be a positive payout, and a 80% chance to explode, showing up a middle finger.

The explosion deals 4 damage to enemies, and half a heart to Isaac.

A negative payout has a 25% chance to be accompanied with the activation of A Card Against Humanity.

The positive payout is a Troll Bomb, along an item/trinket from the following pools:
• 66.67% → Dire Chest
• 33.33% → Dire Chest (trinkets)

If a Red Chest spawns inside a Curse Room, it can be converted into a Dire Chest by taking damage from the Curse Room door's spikes. The chance for a conversion starts at 0.78%, but is doubled every time damage is taken from the spikes.
