Purgatory is an unlockable passive item in The Binding of Isaac, added in the Repentance DLC.

Makes a red crack spawn on a random position in the room while inside a room with enemies. Walking over the crack summons a ghost that homes in on the nearest enemy and explodes.

A new crack will appear once a ghost is summoned.

The ghost explosion deals 2x Isaac's damage per tick, up to 4 times, and damages nearby enemies. It also destroys enemy projectiles.

The explosion cannot hurt Isaac or damage the environment.
