Metronome is an unlockable active item in The Binding of Isaac, added in the Afterbirth+ DLC.

Grants the effects of a random item for the current room.

Can grant the effects of any active or passive item, except Glowing Hourglass, Plan C, Breath of Life, Clicker and R Key.

Using the item multiple times in the same room will replace the effect granted previously.

Can trigger the effects of items that haven't been unlocked yet.

Has a reduced chance of selecting Genesis (25%) or Death Certificate (15%).
