Chivalrous Sympathy is a trinket in Damnation, a mod for The Binding of Isaac.

When Isaac is going to take damage, if the last damage he dealt to an enemy is less than his damage stat, half the damage he taken.

After that, this trinket becomes inactivated (and the sprite of this trinket stops glowing). Dealing damage that meets the requirements to reactivate it.
