Red Room is a room in The Binding of Isaac, added in the Repentance DLC.

Red Rooms are rooms that are created exclusively via Red Key, Cracked Key, Crystal Key, or Soul of Cain.

A Red Room may be created anywhere in the 13x13 map area, where there are no conditions that prevent a room from spawning. Such spots are marked by red outlines on the walls.

Red Rooms can take the shape of many other types of rooms, be it a normal or special room, with the Ultra Secret Room being the only unique Red Room.

Special rooms have a 10% chance of being created as opposed to normal rooms.

Multiple special rooms of the same type may be created on a floor.

Red Rooms can take the shape of the following special rooms:
• Angel Room
• Arcade
• Clean Bedroom
• Curse Room
• Devil Room
• Dice Room
• Dirty Bedroom
• Library
• Mini-Boss Room
• Planetarium
• Sacrifice Room
• Secret Room
• Shop
• Super Secret Room
• Treasure Room
• Vault

These special rooms may use layouts that cannot normally be encountered, e.g. an Arcade affected by Cain's Birthright, or even the Downpour/Dross Treasure Room that contains Knife Piece 1.

All doors adjacent to a Red Room will be automatically unlocked and opened upon entering. This also includes any type of Secret Rooms.

There is a unique Red Room found on the Home floor, in the room right under Mom's room. This is the room in which Tainted characters are unlocked, or Inner Child can be found if the character has already been unlocked, or a Shopkeeper if Inner Child has not been unlocked yet.

If a Red Room door would lead outside of the 13x13 map area, it will take Isaac to the I AM ERROR room instead. Such a room will not show a red outline on the wall.

Special Red Rooms created in the Mirrored World will appear empty.

Red Rooms are not available in Greed Mode, despite red outlines appearing on walls.
