Starting items

RAI:
Analog Stick (inherent)

Description

LAI Moves using the movement keys.
Can move between rooms.
Cannot shoot or place bombs.
Can pick up trinkets, cards, pills, etc, but cannot use them.
Can pick up active items.

When LAI dies, the game ends.

RAI Moves using shooting keys.
Cannot move between rooms.

Shoots automatically at the closest enemy in his range.
Holding the drop button allows shooting as RAI manually.
Invulnerable, but the damage he receives from Blood Donation Machine, Devil Beggar, etc, will be redirected to LAI.
Any hearts RAI gets get transferred to LAI.
Can use the cards/pills that LAI has.

RAI has a chance to shut down, disabling his controls and preventing him from attacking.

When LAI stands next to RAI, RAI hugs him, thus reactivating himself.
This also starts a cooldown that prevents him from shutting down again for 5 seconds (if his bulb is lit up, the cooldown is active).

Items Both characters can pick up passive items from item pedestals/shops, but every item with the offensive tag will get redirected to RAI, the rest goes to LAI.

Active items LAI uses will be used on RAI instead, if they have the offensive tag.

Some items are exceptions to these rules.

Birthright can be picked up as either character and its effect will be different.

Special synergies

The following special synergies and interactions for LAIsaac & RAIsaac have been documented.

Mod Item Synergy
--- Birthright LAI:
Growing Independence

When RAI shuts down for the first time in a room, LAI gets for 15 seconds;
RAI can be reactivated without hugging and from a further distance, but he will not give him a cooldown (Regular hugging will work the same);
RAI shuts down 50% more often.
--- Birthright RAI:
Growing Connection

When RAI hugs, he shoots a ring of 8 tears around himself;
While he hugs, his range is doubled;
Hugs take around 2 seconds to initiate!
--- Urn of Souls Instead of its usual effect, created Mama Mega! explosion in the room, temporarily turning LAI&RAI into ghosts

* Note that not all possible synergies and interactions are listed here.

Lore

"LAIsaac" stands for "Left AIsaac" while "RAIsaac" stands for "Right AIsaac".

LAIsaac and RAIsaac are AIsaac's cousins and are simblings to each other.

LAIsaac and RAIsaac are often called by the first three letters of their names.

LAI and RAI care a lot about each other and they always look out for eachother.

LAI and RAI firstly appeared on the streams when Kami was running two instances of AIsaac at one.
Kami temporarily turned off the ability to shoot of the left instance so it could train movement.
That's why LAI doesn't shoot.

With Specialist Dance Mod installed, LAI and RAI are going to dance The Ol' Jitterbug from Deltarune.
